New Substation Ground-Breaking
5/20/09 - South Gulf County Volunteer Fire Department broke ground at the location of their new fire station today. The ceremony was carried out in the time-honored tradition, that is seldom used nowdays, of using the rear wheels of a firetruck to dig up the first shovel full of dirt, or in this case, sand. Engine 590 is shown participating in the ceremony. To wrap up the ceremony, a celebratory water-gun salute was given, demonstrating pumping capabilities of Engine 590. There was also a training session held on the safe use of towing straps.
